WHILST WE ARE IN TIER 4, FACE TO FACE GROUP TRAINING IS NOT PERMITTED SO THE PUPPY FOUNDATION MANNERS COURSE WILL BE CONDUCTED VIA ZOOM.
The Puppy Foundation Manners Course is a 6 week course, suitable for all puppies up to around 18 weeks at the start of the course. In order to enable owners to get started with their training as early as possible, our Puppy Foundation Manners Course has the initial session as a series of online modules to introduce you to early training methods. The remaining 5 sessions are real time sessions and are run on a rolling programme so that owners can start as soon as they are ready rather than waiting for a new block to start.
There is a dedicated clients Facebook Group containing the information supporting the course. Week 1 is the online session consisting of several modules and various other resources to assist your learning together.
The 6 week programme is a great way to start developing your new puppy into a confident, well socialised member of your family and deals with all main common puppy issues including
- how puppies learn and why positive training works
- how to start teaching them to walk well on the lead
- toilet training
- bite prevention
- returning when called
- preventing jumping up
- learning to sit, stand, lie down and how to settle
- dropping and leaving items when asked
- understanding body language
- preventing separation anxiety
- developing confidence through learning
The 6 week programme is currently £80 but will be increasing to £95 for all bookings made after 1st January 2021.
Real time sessions take place on Wednesday evenings (5.30 pm), Friday mornings (9.30 am) and on Sundays (9.30 am, 10.30 am and 2.00 pm, with a 3.00 pm bulge class when required). We will train face to face outdoors as much as possible but the evening sessions will be transferred to Zoom sessions if government restrictions prevent training indoors. If the daytime sessions cannot go outdoors due to inclement weather conditions (heavy rain or below 6 degrees); and if government restrictions do not permit indoor training, the session will be held at the usual time via Zoom. When training indoors, participants will be expected to wear face masks if they are able to. In order to comply with the 'rule of 6', only one handler will be permitted to attend per dog and there will be a limit of 5 puppies per class unless government restrictions are lifted.
PLEASE SIGN UP FOR THE 5 FACE TO FACE CLASSES THAT YOU WISH TO ATTEND - IT IS PREFERABLE TO SIGN UP TO ONE CLASS EACH WEEK TO ENSURE THAT YOU COMPLETE THE WHOLE SYLLABUS.
WHEN YOU HAVE SIGNED UP, PLEASE APPLY TO BE ADDED TO THE PRIVATE CLIENT FACEBOOK GROUP CONTAINING THE WEEK 1 MODULES WHICH YOU CAN THEN START STRAIGHT AWAY (it is necessary to do these modules before your face to face classes but you can start this part as soon as you like) https://www.facebook.com/groups/618303232097410
