FACE TO FACE GROUP TRAINING WITH GROUP SIZES UP TO 6 DOGS CONTINUE BUT COULD BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE SUBJECT TO GOVERNMENT COVID GUIDELINES
The Bronze Basic Manners Course is a 6 week course, suitable for adult dogs and puppies over 16 weeks at the start of the course who are starting out on their training journey.
The course consists of 5 real time face to face sessions which are run on a rolling programme to enable puppies to start as soon as they are ready. In addition there is bonus introductory content which is found on the dedicated clients only Facebook Group containing the information supporting the course. The introductory content consists of several modules and there are also lots of other resources on this Facebook group to assist your learning together.
The 6 week course is designed to start developing your new puppy into a confident, well socialised member of your family and deals with all main common training issues including
- how dog learn and why positive training works
- how to start teaching them to walk well on the lead
- toilet training
- bite prevention
- returning when called
- preventing jumping up
- learning to sit, stand, lie down and how to settle
- dropping and leaving items when asked
- understanding body language
- preventing separation anxiety
- developing confidence through learning
Real time sessions take place on Sunday afternoons at 4.00 pm and Monday at 9.30 am (subject to demand the class may combined with the Puppy Foundation Manners class so may have younger puppies present too). If these times do not suit you, please get in touch and we will endeavour to accommodate your request as soon as possible.
The Bronze Basic Manners and Puppy Foundation Manners take place in our dedicated indoor training, where the dogs can focus on learning new skills with less distractions. Silver Improvers sessions will take place outdoors in the training paddock unless weather prohibits this, when we will train indoors.. If government restrictions do not permit indoor or face to face training, the session will be held at the usual time online.
PLEASE SIGN UP FOR THE 5 FACE TO FACE CLASSES THAT YOU WISH TO ATTEND (weeks 2-6 of the course) - IT IS PREFERABLE TO SIGN UP TO ONE CLASS EACH WEEK TO ENSURE THAT YOU COMPLETE THE WHOLE SYLLABUS.
At the end of the course you can ask to be assessed for Prelim Level 1 of the CDT Achievement Awards free of charge, which includes trainin behaviours covered and canine knowledge.
